BSNL Apr-Jun sales from core business verticals up 10% YoY to INR 44.18 bln

MUMBAI – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.'s June quarter earnings were reviewed at the strategic review and planning meeting held in New Delhi on Monday. The state-owned telecommunications company's sales from its primary three business engines – consumer fixed access, enterprise business, and consumer mobility – provisionally rose 10% on year to INR 44.18 billion from INR 40.17 billion, according to a social media post by Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The public telecommunications major's revenues from enterprise vertical rose 19% on year and displayed the best performance among the three core divisions. Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Assam circles witnessed "outstanding" growth, as per a press release by the Ministry of Communications. Meanwhile, the consumer mobility business' sales grew 8% with Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Uttarakhand exceeding their quarterly targets.
The consumer fixed access largely maintained stable revenues and its subscriber base showed marginal growth. However, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh (West), and Karnataka circles displayed strong momentum. The telecommunications company is well positioned to accelerate its transformation journey, according to the press release.
The meeting in the national capital was chaired by Scindia, and attended by senior officials from the Department of Telecommunications. The company's chief general managers across the country also attended the meeting.
BSNL's focus remains improving customer experience through higher uptime in optical line terminals and higher base transceiver stations, lower mean time to repair, and service excellence at every touchpoint, Scindia said in his social media post. End
