NEW DELHI – HCL Technologies Ltd. Monday said its board of directors has approved an investment of INR 35 billion to set up data centers in India, with the potential to scale up to 50 megawatt of capacity. The proposed investment will be made through the company's new subsidiary and step-down subsidiaries that are yet to be set-up, the company said in an exchange filing. HCL Technologies has planned an initial investment of upto INR 1.5 million for setting up the subsidiary, the exchange filing said.

With this, the company has entered into the full-stack AI (artificial intelligence) market to address the complete spectrum of full-stack business opportunities arising from growing demand for AI-led services and solutions across private sector and government, according to the exchange filing. 

For the June quarter, the company reported a consolidated net profit of INR 46.24 billion on revenues of INR 345.79 billion. Monday, shares of the company closed 4.9% higher at INR 1,221.20 on the National Stock Exchange. End
