NEW DELHI – The Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd. Thursday said it has contracted to sell one secondhand long range 2 product tanker and the transaction is expected to be completed in the September quarter of the financial year 2026-27 (Apr-Mar). 

On Thursday, the company took delivery of a 2015-built long-range 2 tanker named "Jag Laxman" of about 109,990 deadweight tonnage, Great Eastern Shipping said in an exchange filing. The company had contracted to buy the vessel in the June quarter, and the vessel is financed entirely from internal accruals, according to the exchange filing. 

After the transaction, the company's currently owned fleet stands at 41 vessels, comprising 26 tankers (five crude tankers, 17 product tankers, four liquefied petroleum gas carriers), and 15 dry bulk carriers (two capesize, 10 kamsarmax, one ultramax, two supramax) aggregating 3.35 million deadweight, the exchange filing said, adding that the company's current capacity utilisation is close to 100%. 

For the March quarter, the company's consolidated net profit was INR 10.44 billion on revenue of INR 15.11 billion. Thursday, shares of the company closed 2.8% higher at INR 1,414.20 on the National Stock Exchange. End
