MUMBAI – Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd. Tuesday said that its consolidated revenue for the June quarter was up around 38% on year. The company's revenue for its India business grew over 38% on year, led by robust operating momentum on the ground with healthy same-store sales growth across all the key domestic markets, the company said in its business update. The company recorded same-store sales growth of around 28% in the June quarter.
The company's international operations recorded revenue growth of approximately 35% on year for the quarter ended June. The company's revenue from its West Asia operations grew around 30% on year in the June quarter primarily on the back of same-store sales growth despite a decline in footfall during April due to the West Asia war. International markets contributed approximately 14% to the company's consolidated revenue for the quarter ended June, the company said.
Kalyan Jewellers' share of recycled gold as a percentage of revenue rose over 46% on year in the June quarter and over 55% for June. This follows the launch of the company's "Shine with India" gold recirculation campaign during the second half of May which was aimed at increasing the share of recycled gold and thereby reducing dependence on imported gold, the company said. Further, the company's jewellery platform, Candere, recorded a revenue growth of around 112% on year for the quarter ended June.
The company launched 12 Kalyan showrooms and five Candere showrooms in India during the June quarter. As of Jun. 30, the company's total number of showrooms across India and international markets stood at 524, of which the India business accounted for 354 stores, West Asia business acccounted for 38 stores, and Candere business accounted for 129 stores. "The ongoing quarter has started off well and we are upbeat about the new showroom launches, gearing up with fresh collections and campaigns for the upcoming festive and wedding season across the country," Kalyan Jewellers said.
Monday shares of the company closed at INR 381.25, down 0.2% from Friday, on the National Stock Exchange. For the March quarter, the company reported consolidated net profit of INR 4.10 billion on consolidated revenues of INR 102.75 billion. End
