AHMEDABAD – Titan Co. Ltd. recorded 41% on-year growth in its consumer business revenue during the June quarter, the company informed exchanges Monday. The fashion accessories company's jewellery business in India also recorded revenue growth of 39% on year in Apr-Jun.
Titan's domestic watches business revenue grew 23% on year during the quarter. The analog watches led overall growth for the division in high twenties, driven by continuous premiumisation trends. The smart watches business declined in low teens.
The EyeCare business of the company in India saw revenue growth of 23% on year in the June quarter. Emerging businesses recorded 19% on-year growth during the quarter, with the fragrances segment growing in mid-teens. Women's bags clocked strong double-digit growth for the quarter, and Taneira growth was in low single-digits.
Titan added 77 stores in Apr-Jun, taking the total number to 3,680. It added only one store outside India during the quarter.
The company's domestic jewellery business clocked growth across the brand portfolio, contributed by healthy festive and Akshaya Tritiya demand during the quarter. Amid stable gold prices, the portfolio buyer growth came in early double digits and the average ticket sizes grew in high double digits. Revenue of CaratLane was up 42% on year in Apr-Jun. The average ticket size of the India jewellery business rose in high double digits in the June quarter. The core jewellery categories of plain and studded grew in mid-thirties. Coins saw strong double-digit growth momentum during the quarter as it continued to be a key instrument of investment.
On the international front, the jewellery business of Tanishq, Mia, CaratLane saw strong traction in North America and clocked encouraging double-digit growth in Gulf Cooperation Council nations. The volatile geopolitical situation notwithstanding, the core Damas business is witnessing a gradual recovery across key parameters. Despite positive growth in the jewellery segment, the company expects near-term headwinds, and gold prices to stay volatile due to the impact of West Asia military conflict.
For the March quarter, Titan reported a sharp 78% on-year growth in its revenue from operations to over INR 239 billion and its net profit increased over 29% on year to over INR 11 billion. Monday, shares of the company closed 0.5% higher at INR 4,484.40 per share on the National Stock Exchange. End
