Tata Motors produces 111,240 commercial vehicles in Apr-Jun, up 21% YoY

MUMBAI – Tata Motors Ltd.'s production of commercial vehicles was up 21.4% year-on-year, during the June quarter. The company produced nearly 111,240 commercial vehicles in Apr-Jun. The company's production of tippers and haulage for the quarter accounted for 36% of the company's total production and was the largest component of total production. The company's production of tippers and haulers rose 14.6% on year to nearly 39,790 units.
In the June quarter, the company's production of small trucks under the ACE series was up 52.3% on year during the quarter, with production for the quarter at nearly 21,989 units. The company's production of other models such as the Yodha, Super Ace, Intra, Ace Mega, Xenon, and 207D saw an on-year rise of 35.7%. The company produced an aggregate of 20,324 units of these models during the aforementioned quarter.
The company's production of MAGIC EXPRESS was up 32.5% on year to nearly 7,893 units for the Apr-Jun quarter. The company did not produce any units of the MAGIC and the MAGIC IRIS. The company's production of fully built buses and bus chassis rose only 1.9% on year to over 12,113 units. The company's production of tractors and trailers was down 5.7% on year to over 9,131 units.
For the March quarter, Tata Motors reported net profit of INR 24.06 billion on revenues of INR 244.52 billion. Monday, shares of the company closed 0.5% lower at INR 429.90 on the National Stock Exchange. End
