DCM Shriram denies report of order from Maersk for 1,000 shipping containers

NEW DELHI – DCM Shriram Ltd. Monday denied a news report stating that global shipping major AP Moller-Maersk had placed an order with the company for 1,000 shipping containers.
On Jul. 3, PTI reported, citing a press release by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, that Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had unveiled the first export-import shipping container manufactured in India for AP Moller-Maersk at the Maersk-CONCOR Inland container depot in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. Maersk also placed an order for 1,000 additional India-manufactured shipping containers with DCM Shriram Group during the event, the press release said.
In a clarification to exchanges, the company said that the "news item doesn't pertain" to DCM Shriram, and therefore is "factually incorrect" in relation to the company.
For the March quarter, DCM Shriram's consolidated net profit was INR 3.70 billion on revenues of INR 33.73 billion. Monday, its shares closed at INR 1,017.60 on the National Stock Exchange, slightly lower than the previous close. End
