CG Power arm starts commercial production at Gujarat semiconductor plant

NEW DELHI – CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. Saturday said its subsidiary CG Semi Pvt Ltd. has commenced commercial production at its G1 outsourced semiconductor assembly and test facility in Sanand, Gujarat. CG Semi, a joint venture between CG Power, Renesas Electronics Corp., and Stars Microelectronics, is investing over INR 76 billion over five years to develop two outsourced semiconductor assembly and test facilities, G1 and G2, with the second plant currently under development to further expand production capacity, as per the exchange filing.
The G1 facility, which was inaugurated in August 2025, has a peak production capacity of up to 300 million semiconductor units a year. The company said it completed equipment installation, process stabilisation, workforce training, customer qualification and quality readiness before starting commercial operations.
For the March quarter, CG Power and Industrial Solutions had reported consolidated net profit of INR 3.65 billion on revenues of INR 34.42 billion. At 1411 IST, shares of the company traded at INR 923 on the National Stock Exchange, up 3.3%. End
