Senco Gold says Apr-Jun total revenue up 60%, added 8 stores

MUMBAI – Senco Gold Ltd. expects a 60% year-on-year growth in its total revenue for the June quarter, the company said in its quarterly business update. Senco Gold opened eight new showrooms and closed one store during the quarter, taking its total network to 208 showrooms, as per its exchange filing on Friday. The company expects the September quarter to be seasonally softer. It sees bookings for the next quarter and monsoon to drive consumer demand. The company said that it would open 12-15 showrooms in the next three quarters.
Senco Gold's revenue for the June quarter from the retail segment grew 48% on year. The company's revenues measured on trailing twelve month basis were INR 96.60 billion, which was supported by a favourable festival calendar and onset of the summer wedding season. The company's performance held firm despite Adhik Maas and the customs duty increase to 15% from 6%.
Old gold exchange contributed around 43% to the company's total sales during the quarter. The company's diamond sales volume grew 15% on year during the quarter, mainly driven by enrichment in the company's product mix and lower-priced products, as per the filing.
Friday, shares of Senco Gold closed at INR 326.05 on the National Stock Exchange, down 1.7% from Thursday. For the March quarter, the company reported consolidated net profit of INR 1.57 billion on revenue of INR 19.97 billion. End
