MUMBAI – AWL Agri Business Ltd. Friday said its volumes rose in mid-single digit year-on-year in the June quarter, supported by the food and fast-moving consumer goods operations, according to a filing with bourses. The food and FMCG portfolio's revenue rose 20% on year during the quarter, with underlying volume growth of 17%.
The company's rice business registered revenue growth of 40% on year, while the wheat flour business continued to recover. Its food portfolio, excluding wheat and rice, reported a 25% on-year rise in revenue for the quarter. This includes categories such as pulses, besan, soya nuggets, sugar, poha, and personal care products.
Revenue of the edible oil business was up 13% on year while volumes remained broadly flat during the June quarter, it said. AWL Agri's industry essentials segment recorded a 14% on-year volume growth and 30% revenue growth during the June quarter. This was supported by robust demand across the oleochemicals and specialty chemicals portfolio, which continued to deliver high-teen volume growth, the company said.
The alternate trade channels, such as e-commerce, quick commerce, and modern trade, recorded a 27% on-year growth for the quarter. Quick commerce portfolio delivered high double-digit growth and remains one of the fastest growing channels for the company. Its alternate channels segment has earned INR 56 billion revenue in the last 12 months. AWL Agri continues to hold a double-digit market share across several food categories in major e-commerce and quick commerce platforms.
The company is expanding its health and convenience portfolio, which includes products such as soya nuggets, brown rice, biryani kit, rice bran oil, cold pressed mustard oil, and olive oil. HoReCa, or the hotels, restaurants, and catering, segment registered 31% growth for the quarter. Its branded exports grew 87% on year for the quarter.
