NEW DELHI – JSW Steel Ltd. Friday said it has commenced development activities for its integrated steel project in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, with a total planned investment of up to INR 163.50 billion, to set up a 2-million-tonne-per-annum steel plant.
The project, to be implemented through the wholly owned subsidiary JSW Rayalaseema Steel Ltd., will be developed in two phases. The first phase involves setting up a 1-million-tonne-per-annum integrated steel plant at an investment of INR 45 billion, while the second phase will double capacity to 2 million tonnes at an additional investment of up to INR 118.50 billion.
For the March quarter, JSW Steel reported a consolidated net profit of INR 163.70 billion on revenues of INR 511.8 billion. Friday, its shares ended at INR 1,230.20 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.5% from the previous close. End
