Angel One Jun gross client acquisition down 17.5% on year, client base up

MUMBAI – Angel One Ltd. Friday said its gross client acquisition plunged 17.5% on year in June to 450,000 new additions, while its client base increased nearly 19% to 38.59 million. On a monthly basis, the financial services company's gross client acquisitions rose over 8%, according to an exchange filing.

 

The company's average daily orders for the month rose around 22% on year but fell 3% on month to 6.67 million. The number of orders grew over around 22% on year and over 7% on month to 140.04 million. Based on options premium turnover, the average daily turnover in June nearly tripled on year to INR 3 trillion. The average daily turnover in the futures and options segment rose 16.5% on year but fell nearly 10% on month in June to INR 147 billion.

 

Based on options premium turnover, the company's retail equity market share improved 23 basis points on year to 19.8% in June, while its futures and options retail market share expanded 127 bps on year to 22.1%. Angel One's commodity turnover market share declined 623 bps year-on-year in June to 52.0%.

 

For the June quarter, the company's gross client acquisition slumped around 14% on year to 1.34 million new additions. On a monthly basis, the company's gross client acquisitions fell over 27%.  

 

For the March quarter, Angel One had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 3.2 billion on revenue of INR 14.6 billion. On Thursday, shares of the company closed at INR 346.15 on the National Stock Exchange, 1.7% higher than on Wednesday.  End
