Ujjivan Small Fin Bank's gross loans jump 29% YoY Jun 30, deposits rise 25%

NEW DELHI – Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's gross loan book rose 28.9% on year and 5.5% on quarter to INR 429.03 billion, it said in an exchange filing Thursday. Total deposits rose 25.1% on year and 5.8% on quarter to INR 483.07 billion, the lender's quarterly business highlights showed.
The loan data includes securitisation. The total secured book rose over 42% on year to INR 215.55 billion. Group loans grew 17% to INR 151.85 billion, while housing loans totalled INR 112.10 billion at the end of June. The gross non-performing asset ratio improved to 2.17% as of Jun. 30 from 2.27% a quarter ago and 2.52% at the same time a year ago.
Outstanding vehicle loans nearly doubled on year while gold loans grew over three times, both making up over INR 10 billion of the loan portfolio. Disbursements surged 41.5% on year to INR 92.52 billion in the June quarter, the bank's data showed. The bank's credit-deposit ratio was largely static at 88.8%, similar to 89.0% as on Mar. 31.
On the liabilities side, current-account savings-account deposits grew 37.8% on year to INR 129.30 billion by end-June, the small finance bank said. The share of these low-cost deposits to the bank's total deposits was 26.8% as of Jun. 30, lower than 28.6% as on Mar. 31.
On Friday, shares of the Ujjivan Small Finance Bank closed 0.2% higher at INR 61.40 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. For the March quarter, the lender's net profit had more than tripled to INR 2.82 billion on total income of INR 21.85 billion. End
