MUMBAI – Hindustan Zinc Ltd. said its mined metal output for the June quarter was 268,000 tonnes, up 1% year-on-year. This was the highest-ever mined metal production for the June quarter for the fifth consecutive year, as per the company's exchange filing Thursday. However, this was 15% lower than the previous quarter.

The company's refined metal output was 260,000 tonnes in the June quarter, up 4% on year. The rise in refined metal production was supported by capacity that was unlocked at Chanderiya smelting complex and Dariba smelter, both in Rajasthan, during financial year 2025-26 (Apr-Mar). The refined metal output for the June quarter was, however, offset due to planned maintenance activities at the Debari smelter at Rajasthan.

Refined zinc output for the June quarter was 213,000 tonnes, up 6% on year, Hindustan Zinc said in the filing. The refined lead output for the June quarter was 47,000 tonnes, down 2% on year. The saleable silver production for the June quarter was 149 tonnes, down 0.4% on year. Wind power generation by Hindustan Zinc fell 1% on year to 133 millon units.

Thursday, shares of Hindustan Zinc closed at INR 528.70 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.8% from Wednesday. For the March quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 49.97 billion on revenues of INR 134.88 billion.  End
