--PNB: Global advances INR 12.75 tln as on Jun 30, up 12.9% on year

--PNB: Global deposits INR 17.25 tln as on Jun 30, up 8.5% on year

NEW DELHI – Punjab National Bank's global advances rose 12.9% to INR 12.75 trillion as on Jun. 30, according to provisional data the bank released in an exchange filing Thursday. Global deposits grew at a much slower pace of 8.5% to INR 17.25 trillion at the end of June. Even sequentially, the state-owned lender's credit deposit ratio increased to 73.92% at the end of the June quarter from 73.55% on Mar. 31.

 

While loan growth was stronger offshore, deposits grew slightly better locally. Domestic advances were up 11.7% on year to INR 12.06 trillion as on Jun. 30 and domestic deposits grew 8.6% on year to INR 16.70 trillion. According to latest RBI data, loans of all scheduled commercial banks grew 17.65% on year as on Jun. 15, while deposits were up 12.0% on year.

 

Thursday, shares of the Delhi-based lender closed at INR 106.91 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.6%. For the March quarter, the bank had reported net profit of INR 52.25 billion on total income of INR 363.19 billion.  End
