--LG Electronics gets INR 1.17-bln demand from Uttar Pradesh GST authority
NEW DELHI – LG Electronics India Ltd. Thursday said the goods and services tax authority has ruled in favour of the company and has dropped a tax demand for INR 1.17 billion, including penalty, related to alleged excess input tax credit claimed in 2021-22 (Apr-Mar).
The joint commissioner of GST, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, issued a tax demand of INR 1.17 billion on May 26, including principal tax and a penalty of INR 583.6 million each.
For the March quarter, LG Electronics India reported a net profit of INR 6.93 billion on revenues of INR 80.54 billion. Thursday, its shares closed at INR 1,567.90 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.7% from the previous close. End
