Bajaj Auto wholesale sales pick up momentum in Jun led by surge in exports

MUMBAI – Bajaj Auto Ltd. Thursday said its two-wheeler despatches grew 30% on year to 389,395 units in June, led by a sharp jump in exports. In May, its two-wheeler sales growth had lost momentum and marked the slowest growth in five months since December. The two-wheeler despatches fell about a percent on month. Overall, the company sold 463,202 automobile units to dealerships in India and abroad, up 28% on year and slightly higher on month.

 

Bajaj Auto sold 209,837 automobiles to domestic dealerships in June, up 11% on year but down 15% on month. Their exports surged 47% on year and around 19% on month to 253,365 units. 

 

Domestic sales of two-wheelers grew nearly 12% on year but fell 20% on month to 166,956 units while their exports zoomed 49% on year and a touch over 21% on month to 222,439 units.

 

Sales of Pune-based's automobile maker's commercial three-wheelers grew 18% on year and 8.5% on month to 73,807 units. Domestic wholesale sales of the company's three-wheelers grew 10% on year and over 11% on month to 42,881 units. Their exports surged 33% on year but only 5% on month to 30,926 units.

 

APR-JUN

Bajaj Auto sold 1.44 million automobiles to dealerships in India and overseas in the first quarter of 2026-27 (Apr-Mar), up 29% on year. Domestic sales grew 11% on year to 706,078 units while exports advanced faster at 54% to 732,173 units. Despatches of two-wheelers in Apr-Jun grew 29% on year to 1.22 million units while those of three-wheelers grew 33% to 215,699 units.

 

For the March quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 27.46 billion on revenue of INR 160.06 billion. At 0959 IST, shares of Bajaj Auto were trading 0.4% lower at INR 9,799 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
