Maruti Suzuki Jun output up 40% YoY at 178,024 units led by utility vehicles

MUMBAI – Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.'s total production rose nearly 40% on year to 178,024 units in June from 127,545 units in the year-ago period. The growth in output last month was mainly led by utility vehicles such as Brezza, Ertiga, and e Vitara, and compact models such as Baleno, Celerio, and Dzire, among others.
Maruti Suzuki manufactured 76,626 utility vehicles in June, up around 43% from 53,677 units a year ago. The company manufactured 10,718 mini cars last month, up 51% on year. The output of compact cars rose around 39% on year to 76,835 units. Maruti Suzuki's total passenger vehicle production was up over 39% on year at 174,839 units in June. It produced 3,185 units of light commercial vehicles, up from 2,153 units a year ago.
For the March quarter, Maruti Suzuki had reported net profit of INR 35.91 billion on revenue of INR 524.49 billion. Wednesday, shares of the company closed at INR 14,395 on the National Stock Exchange, up 2% from Tuesday. End
