NEW DELHI – NMDC Ltd.'s iron ore sales rose 11% on year to 3.98 million tonnes in June, according to the provisional figures shared by the company Wednesday. Output in the category rose over 44% on year to 5.15 million tonnes during the month.

 

The company's sales in Chhattisgarh grew over 19% on year to 2.79 million tonnes in June and production rose 57% to 3.58 million tonnes. In Karnataka, the company's sales fell 4% year-on-year to 1.19 million tonnes during the month under review while production rose almost 22% on year to 1.57 million tonnes.

 

Overall, the company sold 11.75 million tonnes of iron ore in the June quarter, up over 2% on year. The provisional output for the quarter added up to 15.10 million tonnes, up from 11.99 million tonnes for the corresponding three months in the last financial year.

 

For the March quarter, NMDC's reported a net profit of INR 20.20 billion on revenue of INR 111.73 billion. Wednesday, shares of the company closed 1% lower at INR 84.30 on the National Stock Exchange.   End
