Domestic sales lift Eicher Motors' June CV volumes 29% YoY to 9,519 units

MUMBAI – Eicher Motors Ltd. sold 9,519 commercial vehicles to dealerships through its joint venture with VE Commercial Vehicles in June, a growth of over 29% on year. Wholesale sales of Eicher-made trucks and buses rose around 29% on year to 9,269 units last month, and sales of Volvo-branded trucks and buses were nearly 52% higher at 250 units.
The company's total sales to dealers in India grew around 28% on year to 8,595 units in June. Of these, sales of trucks with less than 18.5 tonnage payload capacity were 4,366 units, up around 38%. Heavy-duty truck sales to dealers rose nearly 22% on year to 2,139 units while heavy-duty bus sales declined around 27% on year to 132 units. Wholesale sales of light and medium-duty buses rose 21% to 1,958 units last month.
Total exports by the company rose around 42% on year to 674 units in June. Of these, 380 were small commercial vehicles and light-medium duty units, which rose around 12% from a year ago.
APR-JUN
During Apr-Jun, overall wholesale sales grew around 15% on year to 24,815 units. Sales in the domestic market were up over 15% at 22,767 units. Exports for the June quarter rose by one percent to 1,450 units.
For the March quarter, Eicher Motors had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 15.20 billion on revenue of INR 60.80 billion. At 1320 IST, shares of the company traded 0.5% higher at INR 7,105 on the National Stock Exchange. End
