MUMBAI – AlphaGrep Investment Management Pvt. Ltd.'s maiden mutual fund scheme, Multi-Asset Allocation Fund, will review its asset allocation percentages and rebalance them on a weekly basis, according to its Chief Executive Officer Bhautik Ambani. The fund house will use its algorithmic, dynamic, data-driven, and risk-adjusted asset allocation model to rebalance the portfolio every week, Ambani said at the scheme's launch on Tuesday.

Allocations for the new fund house's maiden scheme will be modelled on a cross-asset basis, with the algorithm treating the assets as a single package, according to the CEO. A second algorithmic, and quantitative investment model-based engine will then select individual securities in each of the three asset classes – equities, fixed income, and commodities, Ambani said. The commodities asset class will include not just gold and silver, but also copper and crude oil, making it a unique proposition in the mutual fund industry, he said.

AlphaGrep Mutual Fund is sponsored by AlphaGrep Securities Pvt. Ltd., formerly known as Way2Wealth Illuminati Securities Pvt. Ltd., a proprietary brokerage firm in algorithmic and high-frequency trading. The broking firm has a trading volume share of 3-5% in the equity derivatives segment of the National Stock Exchange and 7-8% in the equity derivatives segment of the BSE, Ambani said.

The fund house's Multi Asset Allocation Fund will invest 10-60% in equities, 10-60% in fixed income securities, and 10-40% in commodities. The fund house has backtested its algorithmic models over 20 years, and according to the data, the average asset allocation would have been 28.5% in equities, 45.75% in fixed income, and 25.75% in commodities. Currently, the fund house's asset allocation model points to a 34% allocation to equities, 21% to commodities, and the remainder to fixed income, he said.

The new fund offer of AlphaGrep Multi Asset Allocation Fund will open for public subscription on Monday. The fund house plans to launch a few equity schemes, such as Flexi Cap Fund and Arbitrage Fund, in the next year, Ambani said.  End
