Canara Bank raises INR 32 bln via Nov CD at 6.88% Mon

MUMBAI – Canara Bank Monday raised INR 32 billion through the issuance of a certificate of deposit maturing on Nov. 30 at 6.88%, a dealer at the bank told Informist. Monday, the rate on an 'AAA'-rated three-month CD was 6.50%, down from 6.56-6.60% Thursday, while rates on six-month CDs rose to 6.80-6.85% from 6.60-6.70% Thursday. Rates on nine-month CDs were at 6.85-6.90%. The money market was shut on Friday for Muharram.

 

For the March quarter, Canara Bank reported a net profit of INR 45.06 billion and total income of INR 366.62 billion. At 1339 IST, shares of the lender were down over 2% at INR 126.10 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.  End
