Gujarat State Fert to lose majority stake in Gujarat Ports and Logistics

NEW DELHI – Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. will see its shareholding in Gujarat Ports and Logistics Co. Ltd. come down to 11% from the current 60% after the state government approved the revision in the shareholding pattern of the ports and logistics company.
As per an exchange filing, the shareholding of Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals in Gujarat Ports and Logistics, which is yet to begin operations, will drop despite an increase in its investment in the company to INR 27.5 million from INR 12 million at present. The fertiliser company will no longer be the majority shareholder in Gujarat Ports and Logistics. Instead, that position will be taken by the Gujarat Maritime Board.
The maritime board's shareholding in Gujarat Ports and Logistics will rise to 52% from the present 40% as its investment rises to INR 130 million from INR 8 million. Gujarat Industrial Development Corp. and Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corp. will acquire 26% and 11% stake, respectively, in Gujarat Ports.
The fertiliser company had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 521 million for the March quarter on a total income of INR 26.68 million. Its shares Thursday ended at INR 163.13 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.5% from Wednesday. The stock market was shut Friday for Muharram. End
