NEW DELHI – Honasa Consumer Ltd. said it will receive INR 255.36 million from RSMM General Trading LLC., after an arbitral tribunal rectified a previous order.
In May, an arbitral tribunal had told RSMM General to pay INR 188.84 million to Honasa Consumer. This was in relation to RSMM General initiating legal proceedings in Dubai in breach of an authorised distributor agreement with Honasa Consumer.
Honasa Consumer will now receive the higher amount thanks to upward revision of loss of profits and correction of substitution costs, the company said in an exchange filing Friday. "The Tribunal added a dispositive direction stating that RSM must pay damages to the Company aggregating to any amount sought to be recovered from the Company pursuant to any Dubai court decisions related to the ADA (Authorized Distributor Agreement) termination," Honasa Consumer said in the filing.
For the March quarter, Honasa Consumer had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 691.93 million on revenues of INR 6.57 billion. Its shares Thursday ended at INR 417.70 on the National Stock Exchange, up slightly from Wednesday. The equity market was shut Friday for Muharram. End
