Union Bank of India to raise INR 50 bln via 2 CD Wed

MUMBAI – Union Bank of India will raise a total of INR 50 billion Wednesday through the issuance of two certificates of deposit with different maturities, a dealer at the bank told Informist. The state-owned bank issued a one-month CD to raise INR 5 billion at 6.21%. It also issued a three-month CD at 6.65% to raise INR 45 billion.
In the secondary market, the yield on one-month CD was 6.23% while the rate on a three-month CD was 6.62%, as per data from Clearing Corp. of India Ltd. One-year certificates of deposit were not traded, as per data from CCIL at 1501 IST.
For the March quarter, Union Bank of India had reported a net profit of INR 53.16 billion on total income of INR 318.51 billion. At 1510 IST, shares of the lender were broadly flat from Tuesday at INR 174.88 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. End
