NEW DELHI – ABB India Ltd. Wednesday said Kolkata Metro has deployed its electrification and motion-control solutions across key stations and tunnels in the city's metro network to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and safety. The company said its low- and medium-voltage gas-insulated switchgear, lightning protection systems, distribution boards, and variable frequency drives have been installed across multiple metro corridors and facilities.

Kolkata Metro, which operates a 72-kilometre network, runs over 300 train trips daily, and serves more than 500,000 passengers, according to the company.
