Bandhan Bk ups 3- to 5-yr FCNR(B) deposits rates for $1 mln, above at 7.10%

MUMBAI – Bandhan Bank Thursday raised interest rates on dollar-denominated foreign currency non-resident bank deposits of $1 million and above for three- to five-year tenures to 7.10%, according to the bank's website. Earlier the inetrest rate for these deposits was 7.00%.
The bank first raised its interest rates on deposits for these tenors on Jun. 11 to 7.00%. Then the bank did not categorise deposits based on the amount. Now, it had left the interest rate on deposits less than $1 million for three to five years at 7.00%.
Several banks raised interest rates on such deposits for the second time after the Reserve Bank of India withdrew the interest rate ceiling on these deposits. The central bank also withdrew restriction on interest rates on Non-Resident External Account deposits of three-year and above tenors, including deposits that are renewed upon maturity.
Friday, shares of the bank ended nearly 3% lower at INR 208.09 on the National Stock Exchange. For the March quarter, Bandhan Bank had reported net profit of INR 5.34 billion on total income of INR 61.99 billion.
