--Lupin launches Azilsartan Medoxomil tablets in US
NEW DELHI – Lupin Ltd. Wednesday said it has launched Azilsartan Medoxomil tablets in the US, following approval from the USFDA for its abbreviated new drug application. The product comes in 40 milligrams and 80 milligrams. Lupin is the first to file for this product and is eligible for 180-day generic drug exclusivity, as per the exchange filing.
"The product is bioequivalent to Edarbi of Azurity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and indicated for the treatment of hypertension in adults to lower blood pressure," the company said in the exchange filing on Wednesday.
For the March quarter, Lupin had reported consolidated net profit of INR 14.60 billion on revenue of INR 74.75 billion. Wednesday, shares of the company ended at INR 2,266.80 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.5%. End
