MUMBAI – Bharat Forge Ltd.'s wholly-owned arm Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd. and UAE-headquartered aerospace and defence technology company Paramount Wednesday unveiled a next-generation light armoured multi-purpose vehicle, Simha 4x4, at Eurosatory 2026. The vehicle has been developed for armed forces in India, Africa, South Asia, and other global markets, Bharat Forge said in an exchange filing. 

 

The vehicle is best suited for urban warfare and on and off-road reconnaissance. Its modular architecture allows for easy upgrades, customisations, and modifications, the company said. 

 

The two companies had signed a cooperation agreement in 2021 to manufacture armoured vehicles in India. In the past, the two developed and produced large numbers of locally made KM4 armoured vehicles for the Indian Army. In 2023, the two companies broadened their partnership to produce a wider range of armoured vehicles in India for Paramount's global customers. 

 

For the March quarter, Bharat Forge posted a net loss of INR 1.18 billion on revenue of INR 22.60 billion. Tuesday, its shares closed 0.4% lower at INR 2,012.30 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
