BHEL wins bid for INR 900-mln thermal power project from Damodar Valley Corp

NEW DELHI – Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. Thursday said it has received a limited notice to proceed and initiate the advance engineering and order critical long lead items under main plant package for 1x800 megawatt Durgapur supercritical thermal power station. The limited notice to proceed is for 10 months from the date of issuance, and order for the supply and execution of main plant package is awaited, the exchange filing said.

 

The project is worth INR 900 million excluding goods and services tax, and the company emerged as successful bidder in a major tender from Kolkata-based Damodar Valley Corp. for the main plant package of this project, according to the exchange filing by the company. 

 

For the March quarter, Bharat Heavy Electricals reported a net profit of INR 12.83 billion, on revenues of INR 123.10 billion. At 1515 IST, shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals traded 1.7% lower at INR 371 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
