Oil India signs collaboration framework with Canada's non-profit energy co

NEW DELHI – Oil India Ltd. Thursday said it has signed a collaboration framework with Petroleum Technology Research Centre, a not-for-profit energy research company of the Province of Saskatchewan in Canada, on the sidelines of the Global Energy Show on Wednesday. The collaboration framework is in the fields of carbondioxide capture, utilisation, and storage, geothermal, development of clean energy technologies, and research interests with MC2+ for startups, according to an exchange filing by the company. MC2+ for startups is a platform created under the under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, the exchange filing said.
The company said utilisation of captured carbondioxide, both related to permanent storage through geological sequestration and mineralisation in geological formations, and innovative enhanced oil recovery methods will help reduce the environmental impacts and energy use of oil and gas production. Working with established networks and partners specific to both companies to identify business opportunities in both countries, and identification of potential geothermal projects of mutual interest to study and participate are part of the collaboration framework, according to the exchange filing.
For the March quarter, Oil India reported a net profit of INR 17.90 billion on revenue of INR 59.61 billion. At 1213 IST, shares of the company traded 1.1% higher at INR 431.95 on the National Stock Exchange. End
