MUMBAI – Hyundai Motor India Ltd. Wednesday said the operations at its Pune plant and Chennai plant 2 were mostly unaffected and continue as usual after the fire incident at one of the manufacturing facilities of its automotive component supplier Mobis India Ltd. in Tamil Nadu's Irrungattukottai on  May 31. The temporary production disruption was limited only to its Chennai plant 1, the company said in an exchange filing. It does not expect any noteworthy impact on retail sales in June on the back of adequate inventory in its network.

 

The Chennai facility 1 is expected to regain the pace of its production by Jun. 15 and all production operations are projected to return to normal by Jun. 22. Hyundai Motor is also ascertaining the extent of the impact of this accident on its operations. It expects to recover any loss of production from the fire within the September quarter, the filing said. 

 

For the March quarter, it had reported consolidated net profit of INR 12.56 billion on consolidated revenue of INR 189.16 billion. At 0955 IST, its shares traded 0.9% higher at INR 1,915.20 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
