MUMBAI – Suzlon Energy Ltd. Wednesday announced its growth plans for the next five years with focus to expand across wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems. Suzlon is aiming to increase annual renewable energy sales fourfold to 10 gigawatts by 2030-31 (Apr-Mar) and also quadruple renewable fleet under management to 70 GW, according to an exchange filing.

Suzlon aims to grow its renewable energy order book to 15 GW by FY31 from 5.9 GW order book size by the end of FY26. "Suzlon is entering a transformative growth phase - Suzlon 2.0 with a clear ambition to become one of the world's most integrated renewable energy companies," the filing said. "In wind, it will continue to innovate market defining turbines, while in solar, Suzlon is going for an asset-light model where it will leverage ecosystem partnerships."

The company plans to increase its focus on other segments such as solar and battery energy storage systems, among others. "Suzlon 2.0 is anchored by a new business architecture comprising of Wind-First Full stack RE Tech Solutions, RE DevCo, RE Projects, and RE Asset Management," it said. "Together, these businesses create an integrated platform that enables renewable energy delivery at scale with speed, certainty, and long-term performance while powering reliable, accessible, affordable, and intelligent energy systems."

While the company is looking at new areas for growth, the wind energy segment will remain the company's core growth engine, it said. The company wants to increase its market share to 40% in India's wind energy industry. It also aims to get 3 GW of export orders for the wind energy business by FY31.

Suzlon is also foraying into the battery energy storage systems with its first manufacturing facility expected to complete by 2027. The company is also banking on its integrated co-development platform, RE DevCo, which will provide end-to-end development services. "RE DevCo will be the growth engine of Suzlon 2.0...We aim to capture 60% of our volume contribution from RE DevCo, leading to 40% market share in the Indian wind market," Ajay Kapur, Suzlon group's chief executive officer, said in the filing.

During the March quarter, Suzlon Energy reported consolidated net profit of INR 11.14 billion on revenue of INR 54.68 billion. At 1333 IST, its shares traded at INR 53.67 on the National Stock Exchange, down 1.6% from Tuesday.  End
