State Pollution Control Board revokes closure of Piramal Pharma Gujarat unit

MUMBAI – Piramal Pharma Ltd. Wednesday said the Gujarat Pollution Control Board has permanently revoked the closure of its plant in Dahej, Gujarat. This comes after the board granted an interim revocation of the closure of the unit in mid-February. In early February, the company had received a notice from the state pollution control board to shut down the unit on the grounds that the company had violated the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. The operations at the site continue to be on the normal course, the company Wednesday said in a filing to the bourses.
At 1148 IST, shares of the company traded 0.5% lower at INR 166.12 on the National Stock Exchange. For the March quarter, the company reported a consolidated net loss of INR 88.2 million on revenues of INR 27.52 billion. End
