NEW DELHI – Wipro Ltd. Monday said its step-down subsidiary Wipro IT Services, LLC., will acquire an additional 20% stake in Aggne Global Inc. for $28.5 million to take its overall shareholding in the company to 80%. This additional stake purchase will strengthen Wipro's competitive advantage in the insurance sector, particularly in driving artificial intelligence- and intellectual property-led transformations for the property and casualty insurance sectors, the IT major said in an exchange filing.
The transaction is expected to be completed by Friday, as per the filing. Aggne Group, which includes Aggne Global and its affiliate Aggne Global IT Services Pvt. Ltd., recorded an annual turnover of $27.5 million for the financial year 2025-26 (Apr-Mar) and $24.2 million in FY25. The group's annual turnover for FY24 was $18.9 million.
In February 2024, Wipro and Wipro IT Services had each acquired 60% stake in Aggne Global IT Services and Aggne Global, respectively.
For the March quarter, Wipro reported a consolidated net profit of INR 35.02 billion on a revenue of INR 242.36 billion. Monday, Wipro's shares ended at INR 206.41 on the National Stock Exchange, up over 1% from Friday. End
