MUMBAI – Hyundai Motor India Ltd. Wednesday said it will hike prices of its cars by up to INR 12,800 from Monday due to rising input costs, increased commodity prices and higher operational expenses, among other reasons. The company has hiked car prices twice this year already. In January, it had increased prices of its cars by up to 0.6% and in May, it had hiked prices by up to 1%. In March, Hyundai Motor increased the prices of the Venue facelift by up to INR 20,000.

"While the company continuously strives to optimize costs and minimize the impact on its customers, the company is constrained to pass on some of the increased costs to the market through this nominal price increase," it said in an exchange filing.

For the March quarter, it had reported consolidated net profit of INR 12.56 billion on revenues of INR 189.16 billion. At 1444 IST, its shares traded 1% higher at INR 1,904.50 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
