MUMBAI – Premier Energies Ltd.'s promoter Surenderpal Singh Saluja sold 15.69 million shares of the company in a block deal for INR 955 apiece on the National Stock Exchange Monday. Three other promoters, Manjeet Kaur Saluja, Charandeep Singh Saluja, and Jasveen Kaur Saluja also sold shares totalling 8.29 million shares. Together, they held almost 6% of the company's outstanding shares on Mar. 31.

As many as 24 million shares of Premier Energies changed hands through multiple block deals Monday. These shares, comprising a roughly 5.3% shareholding of the company, were sold and purchased at INR 955 per share, which takes the total transaction value to INR 22.91 billion.

Shares sold by promotor Surenderpal Singh Saluja and three promotor group entities were purchased across 23 deals by multiple buyers, including SBI Life Insurance, Reliance Nippon Life Insurance, Quant Mutual Fund, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, among others.

Monday, shares of Premier Energies ended 0.2% higher on the NSE at INR 985 on the NSE. For the March quarter, the company reported a consolidated net profit of INR 4.57 billion on a consolidated revenue of INR 22.30 billion.  End
