--Aditya Birla Fashion invests INR 1.75 bln in arm via rights issue 

 

MUMBAI – Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. Thursday said it has invested around INR 1.75 billion in its subsidiary, Indivinity Clothing Retail Pvt. Ltd., by subscribing to 36.52 million shares of the latter through a rights issue. With this fresh investment, Aditya Birla Fashion's stake in Indivinity Clothing will increase to 89.29% from 85.54%, it said in an exchange filing.

 

Indivinity Clothing proposes to use the investment to fund its growth and business operations. The subsidiary runs a bespoke ethnic-wear business selling occasion and ceremonial contemporary apparel for men under the brand name "Tasva".

 

For the December quarter on a consolidated basis, Aditya Birla Fashion had posted a net loss of INR 1.52 billion on revenue of INR 23.74 billion. At 1106 IST, its shares were at INR 63.80 on the National Stock Exchange, up over 2% from Wednesday.  End
