NEW DELHI – Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. Wednesday said it has launched oral semaglutide biosimilar tablets under the brand name Obeda in India for treatment of type-2 diabetes. The company said the product is available in 3 milligram, 7 milligram, and 14 milligram strengths and is priced at INR 99, INR 135, and INR 225 per tablet, respectively.
Dr. Reddy's said the launch follows its recent launch of generic semaglutide injections in India and Canada, strengthening its position in glucagon-like peptide-1 therapies. M.V. Ramana, chief executive officer of global generics at Dr. Reddy's, said the launch broadens the company's glucagon-like peptide-1 portfolio and would provide patients with greater choice of and flexibility in treatment.
For the March quarter on a consolidated basis, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories reported a net profit of INR 2.21 billion on revenues of INR 75.46 billion. Wednesday, its shares ended at INR 1,321.90 on the National Stock Exchange, down 1% from Tuesday. End
