NEW DELHI – JSW Energy Ltd. Tuesday said it will buy additional stake worth INR 1.50 billion in its joint venture Toshiba JSW Power Systems Pvt. Ltd. JSW Energy has signed a definitive agreement for the same with Japan-based Toshiba Corp.
Post acquisition, JSW Energy Ltd's stake in Toshiba JSW Power Systems will rise to 20.7% on a non-diluted basis from 4.6%, and to 10.7% on a fully diluted basis from 2.4%. The acquisition, being carried out through a secondary purchase of shares from Toshiba Corp., is expected to be completed by Jun. 15, as per an exchange filing.
Toshiba JSW Power Systems manufactures and provide services for supercritical steam turbines and generators of capacities 500 megawatt to 1 gigawatt. The joint venture operates a manufacturing facility in Chennai. JSW Energy has already placed orders for 1.6 GW of ultra-supercritical turbine generators with Toshiba JSW Power Systems. The joint venture reported a revenue of INR 3.39 billion in 2025-26.
JSW Energy reported a consolidated net profit of INR 3.72 billion for the March quarter on revenue of INR 44.99 billion. On Tuesday, shares of the company closed 0.8% higher at INR 533.15 on the National Stock Exchange. End
