Tata Motors buys 18% stake in Freight Tiger for INR 956.6 million

MUMBAI – Tata Motors Ltd. Friday said it has acquired 18% stake in Freight Commerce Solutions Pvt. Ltd., known as Freight Tiger, for INR 956.6 million. After the acquisition, Tata Motors will hold 63.6% stake in Freight Tiger, the company said in the exchange filing.
Freight Tiger, which provides software as a service in the logistics space, will operate as a subsidiary of Tata Motors upon the completion of the acquisition, the motor vehicle company said. "Tata Motors connected vehicle platform, ‘Fleet Edge' together with ‘Freight Tiger' aspire to forge a comprehensive end-to-end digital ecosystem for the entire logistics value chain, covering both the truck and the trip ecosystem," Tata Motors said.
For the March quarter, Tata Motors reported a net profit of INR 24.06 billion on revenue of INR 244.52 billion. Shares of the company Friday ended at INR 377.95 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.4%. End
