MUMBAI/KOLKATA – Execution of existing orders, a higher share of export revenue in total top line, and better operating leverage led Siemens Energy India Ltd. to report better revenue and profit growth than the Street's expectations for the March quarter.

The company, which demerged from Siemens Ltd. a year back, reported over 27% on-year growth in revenue at nearly INR 24 billion, against the Street's estimate of around INR 23 billion for the March quarter. The net profit increased over 52% on year to INR 3.75 billion during the quarter, ahead of the Street's estimate of INR 3.59 billion.

"Demand momentum in India remains strong, driven by electrification, decarbonisation and energy security priorities, as well as export opportunities," Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Guilherme Mendonca said in a statement.

Revenue from the power transmission segment in the March quarter grew over 26% on year to INR 12.79 billion, while the power generation segment's revenue rose nearly 29% on year to INR 11.15 billion.
