MUMBAI – Tube Investments Of India Ltd. saw an on-year fall in its net profit for the March quarter, the first time in six quarters. Growth in the company's expenses in the quarter was higher than that in revenue, weighing on its bottom line. The revenue growth was, however, the highest in eight quarters.
The company saw a 65?ll in its net profit for the quarter ended March at INR 2.84 billion from INR 8.14 billion a year ago. The company's revenue grew over 16% to INR 22.79 billion.
The company's total expenses rose nearly 17% year-on-year in the reporting quarter to INR 20.77 billion from INR 17.81 billion. The cost of raw materials, which account for a majority of the company's expenses, grew almost 19% on year to INR 12.92 billion.
Tube Investments' revenue from all three of its segments rose on a year-on-year and sequential basis. Sales from its primary engineering business increased 22% on year to INR 14.95 billion. Revenue from its metal-formed products increased more than 4% on year to INR 4.21 billion, while that from its mobility division was up 15% at INR 2.08 billion. The company's on-year sales growth in metal-formed products and engineering division beat Motilal Oswal Financial Services' estimates of 3% and 15%, respectively.
For 2025–26 (Apr-Mar), Tube Investments' profit fell 36% on year to INR 8.27 billion on revenue of INR 85.56 billion. The company's revenue grew over 8% in FY26. The company said it would pay final dividend of INR 1.50 per share to shareholders. The record date to finalise the list of eligible shareholders for the dividend is yet to be announced. Further, Tube Investments said it would borrow INR 3.5 billion through non-convertible debentures in one or more tranches to fund its requirements for FY27.
The company's free cash flow for the March quarter was INR 3.13 billion. For FY26, the cumulative free cash flow was INR 8.26 billion, which is 100% of the profit generated in the fiscal year.
Tube Investments reported its earnings for the quarter ended March during market hours. Shares of the company came slightly off lows and closed 0.4% lower at INR 2,941 Wednesday after falling almost 1% soon after the earnings were announced. End
