NEW DELHI – Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. and Nestle Health Science Ltd. on Thursday launched 'Celevida GLP+'. It is a specialised nutrition product for people undergoing therapies of glucagon-like peptide-1, commonly known as GLP-1, and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide for type-II diabetes and obesity management in India. Nestle Health Science is a joint venture between Dr. Reddy's and Nestle India Ltd.

The product is for maintaining muscle mass and supporting nutritional intake during such therapies. Celevida GLP+ will be sold in a 350-gram pack through pharmacies, retail outlets, and e-commerce platforms. According to the companies, studies indicate that 25-40% of total weight loss from these therapies may come from lean body mass loss.

For the December quarter, Dr Reddy's had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 12.1 billion on consolidated revenues of INR 87.53 billion. Thursday, shares of the company ended at INR 1,307.60 on the National Stock Exchange, marginally lower compared to Wednesday.  End
