Bajaj Auto April despatches highest in six mos at 513,792 units; up 40% YoY

MUMBAI – Bajaj Auto Ltd. Monday reported total sales of 513,792 units in April, the highest number of despatches in six months. This comprised domestic sales of 248,210 units and total exports of 265,582 units. Total sales recorded a 40% on-year upside during the month, which is the highest growth since July 2021. The company's total sales performed better than in April a year ago, when it posted a fall of nearly 6% on year.
The total sales growth was helped by a 13% on-year rise and an 83% rise in the company's domestic sales and exports, respectively. The growth in domestic sales was, however, the slowest in four months, while the exports saw the highest pace of growth since July 2021.
Bajaj Auto posted growth in its two-wheelers and commercial vehicles sales as well in April. The company's two-wheeler sales stood at 439,953 units in April and commercial vehicles sales were at 73,839 units. The sales growth of two-wheelers was up 38% on year and that of commercial vehicles was up 54%. Two-wheelers sales growth was the highest since July 2021 and that of commercial vehicles was the highest since May 2023.
At 1043 IST, shares of the company traded over 3% higher at INR 10,318 on the National Stock Exchange. For the December quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 25.03 billion on revenues of INR 152.20 billion. End
