MUMBAI – OneSource Specialty Pharma Ltd. Monday said its partner Orbicular, along with its Canadian front-end partner, has received approval from Health Canada for a generic version of Ozempic semaglutide injection. This marks the second generic semaglutide approval for OneSource partners in Canada, the company said in an exchange filing. Commercial supply of the drug will be supported by OneSource's US Food and Drug Administration-approved flagship facility in Bengaluru, it said.

The approval follows a recent tentative approval in the US supported by OneSource, further reinforcing the company's growing presence in complex peptide-based injectable programs and its ability to support global partners across highly regulated markets. Late April, the company's other partner, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, had received approval from Health Canada for its generic semaglutide injection. 

For the December quarter, the company reported consolidated net loss of INR 887 million and revenue of INR 2.90 billion. Thursday, its shares closed over 1% lower at INR 1,738.10 on the National Stock Exchange. Domestic equity markets were closed on Friday on account of Maharashtra Day.  End
