IOC keeps retail fuel prices unch for May, hikes commercial LPG prices

NEW DELHI – Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. has kept the retail prices of petrol and diesel unchanged in Delhi at INR 94.77 per litre and INR 87.67 per litre, respectively, for May, according to the information available on the company's website. The company has also kept the prices of the 14.2-kilogram domestic liquefied petroleum gas cylinder unchanged at INR 913, and aviation turbine fuel for domestic airlines at INR 104,927.18 per kilo litre for May. The price of kerosene for the public distribution system has also been kept unchanged at INR 64.20 per litre in Kolkata, INR 61.20 in Mumbai, and INR 15.00 in Chennai.
"Overall, approximately 80% of petroleum products have witnessed no change in prices, ensuring stability for the majority of consumers," the oil retailer said. The company has, however, revised the prices of bulk and commercial liquefied petroleum gas cylinders by INR 993 to INR 3,071.50 from INR 2,078.50 in New Delhi. The price of the commercial liquefied petroleum gas cylinder has been hiked to INR 3,024 from INR 2,031 in Mumbai, NDTV reported.
The prices of bulk diesel and aviation turbine fuel for international airline operations have been adjusted upward, the company said. The price of aviation turbine fuel for international airlines has increased by $76.55 per kilolitre to $1,511.86 per kilolitre from $1435.31 per kilolitre, according to media reports.
The price of around 4% of petroleum products has seen a downward revision, the company said in a press release. For the December quarter, Indian Oil Corp's net profit was INR 121.26 billion on a revenue of INR 2.32 trillion.
Thursday, shares of the company closed nearly 1% lower at INR 142.25 on the National Stock Exchange.
