Tata Motors' CV despatches rise 28% on growth in small cargo, pickup units

MUMBAI – Tata Motors Ltd. Friday said it sold 34,833 commercial vehicles to dealers in April, up 28% on year. This includes domestic sales of 32,965 units and exports of 1,868 units, both up 28% on year.
Despatches of heavy commercial trucks grew 23% on year to 8,969 units while that of intermediate, light, and medium commercial vehicles grew 17% on year to 5,454 units. Despatches of small cargoes and pickup vehicles grew 40% on year to 12,799 units, the company said.
For the December quarter, the company had reported net profit of INR 5.61 billion on revenue of INR 204.04 billion. Thursday, its shares closed 1.7% lower at INR 409.90 on the National Stock Exchange. End
