MUMBAI – The National Aluminium Co. Ltd. Thursday reported a net profit of INR 17.18 billion for the March quarter, down over 17% on year from INR 20.78 billion in the year-ago quarter. The aluminium company's bottom line for the March quarter was slightly lower than the Street's view of INR 17.78 billion.
The company's revenue for the March quarter was INR 50.13 billion, down nearly 5% on year from INR 52.68 billion in the year-ago quarter but beat the Street's view of INR 49.10 billion. Analysts had anticpiated the dip in the company's revenues due to weak prices of alumina and lower sales volume.
The company's total expenses for the Jan-Mar quarter jumped 10% on year to INR 28.98 billion from INR 26.34 billion in the year-ago quarter.
Further, the company's total income for the quarter fell slightly on year to INR 52.10 billion, down over 3% from INR 53.93 billion in the year-ago quarter. On a sequential basis, the state-owned aluminium company's net profit rose over 7% and its revenues rose nearly 6%.
Revenues from the company's aluminium segment rose nearly 20% on year to INR 38.95 billion from INR 32.50 billion in the year-ago quarter. However, this was outpaced by the fall in the revenue from the company's chemicals segment, which fell 38% on year to INR 15.75 billion from INR 25.37 billion in the year-ago quarter.
For the financial year 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), the company reported a net profit of INR 58.16 billion, up over 9% from INR 53.25 billion in FY25. The company's revenue for FY26 rose modestly on year to INR 178.43 billion, up over 6% from INR 167.88 billion FY25. The company announced an interim dividend of INR 2 per share with the record date set for May 8. End
