MUMBAI – Adani Total Gas Ltd.'s total sales volume rose 13% on year to 297 million standard cubic metres in the March quarter, according to the company's investor presentation released Monday. Sales of compressed natural gas rose 17% on year to 207 million standard cubic metres and sales of piped natural gas rose 5% to 91 million standard cubic metres. The Centre has been pushing for higher sales of domestic piped natural gas amid the military conflict in West Asia as global markets grapple with gas shortages.
The company's cost of natural gas rose 18% on year to INR 11.99 billion for the March quarter owing to lower allocation of administered price mechanism gas to the CNG segment, higher Henry Hub gas prices, and higher spot prices due to the West Asia conflict, the company said. Its consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation rose to INR 3.13 billion for the March quarter from INR 2.74 billion a year ago. Consolidated operating EBITDA rose to INR 3.01 billion from INR 2.66 billion a year ago.
The company added 25 CNG stations during the March quarter, taking its total to 705. Adani Total Gas added 214 commercial and industry piped gas users during the quarter, taking the total connections to 9,965. Adani Total Gas reported a consolidated net profit of INR 1.68 billion for the March quarter, up around 9% on year. It reported revenues of INR 16.95 billion for the reporting quarter, including excise duty, up nearly 17% on year.
The company disclosed its March quarter financial results after the market closed Monday. Its shares closed 1.4% higher at INR 635.60 on the National Stock Exchange. End
